HSM was founded in 1944 in Hickory, NC as Hickory Springs Manufacturing, a producer of coiled furniture springs. The company transformed over the years from a component supplier of springs and foam into a global manufacturer of integrated solutions and components for the transportation, furniture, and bedding markets.  In addition, the company serves a growing number of diversified markets, including packaging, healthcare, and government/institutional markets.

HSM Transportation is proud to be the largest interior component supplier in the school bus industry and has a component on every school bus made today. Additionally, offering a full line of commercial seats. HSM is the only rebond foam supplier in the industry. Providing a customer-centric service model with strategically located plants to optimize ready-to-install deliveries and flexible scheduling. On-site testing facilities with experienced Engineering, Technical, and supporting teams.
